Brenda Richards

Ms Brenda Richards passed away on 14th of November 2024. She was 103. Ms Brenda Richards was born on 8th August 1921 in Sutton, Surrey. She studied at Ben Hilton College and Camden School for girls, then went on to join Bedford College at London University.

Ms Brenda Richards arrived in Uganda in 1950. Her official Teaching subject was history, but she also taught religious Education. Brenda was in charge of Chapel services and Ann Cutler was her assistant. She was also acting Deputy Headmistress to Joan Cox.

Ms Brenda Richards retired in 1971 and retuned to England.  She looked after her mum, worked in a school and also studied to become a Church of England deaconess. She was Ordained and had church commitments in Sutton and in Bognor Regis where she had moved to. She lost her sight and has been listening to Audio books.
