Gayaza High School win Stanbic National Schools Championship

We congratulate Gayaza High School girls for winning in the Stanbic National Schools Championship (SNSC) Bizgrow Challenge. The grand finale of the 5th edition took place on 2nd September 2020 at Sheraton Hotel, Kampala.

The theme this year was, “Empowering the job creators of tomorrow”, re-echoing the championship’s purpose of skilling the youth in business, creativity and entrepreneurship.

The SNSC is an engaging national high school competition for students, in school-based projects. Gayaza High School participated in the first category, which is for business startups, and in the second, for schools that had an ongoing project on the school campus. They won in the latter.

This winning project was the Students Savings Bank, which upholds the savings culture as the girls manage their pocket money while at school. The girls are learning proper financial management at an early stage, and we celebrate this idea!

The girls who participated in this challenge are: Rona Akampa (S.4), Carol Namatovu (S6) and Sheila Naluwooza S.6). A big congratulations!

It was also impressive to have an Old Girl, Marion Ndyemanya, sharing about her business, Viron Jewelry, which deals in personalized bracelets!

Gayaza has always been blessed in the talent department, and Angel Kabera Amahoro (S.6) left the crowd speechless when she recited a heartfelt poem titled, “Importance of letting the youth lead”.

Gayaza Old Girls Association headed by Mrs. Elizabeth Ntege promised to further support the girls with a 5 million start-up capital for their business to grow!

We are in awe and we can only say, thank you for letting us shine through your achievements!
